Rankings updated November 5, 2009

Kobe Bryant – Kobe has been scoring and playing solid minutes and will continue to be leaned on with the Lakers nursing several injuries.

Dwayne Wade – Wade looking good after a few preseason nagging injuries.  Scoring has been solid.

Joe Johnson -  Johnson moves up the rankings as the Hawks have been pushing the pace a little more than last season.  Johnson is a solid, dependable daily cash game option.

Kevin Martin – The only person who seems to be able to score on a horrible Sacramento team.  Will continue to be the man.

Brandon Roy – I like Roy, but Portland just plays at such a slow pace that it really hurts his numbers.  If Roy played somewhere like Golden State, who knows how many he would average per game.

OJ Mayo – Mayo has improved his game.  It will be interesting to see how he gets along with Iverson.

Eric Gordon – Gordon has been steady scoring the basketball and he has no competition trying to steal his minutes this year.

Vince Carter – Not depended on quite as much in Orlando.  Has also been dealing with an ankle injury.  Now settles for the jumper rather than driving.

Ben Gordon -  I was worried about Gordon during the preseason since he was competing with Rip Hamilton for minutes, but it appears that there are plenty to go around in the three guard offense of Detroit.  Hamilton has missed the last few games and Gordon has been scoring well.

Jason Terry – Has the SG spot all to himself until Josh Howard returns.

Manu Ginobili – Leads the league in bat killings.  Looks pretty healthy this year – so far.

Jason Richardson – Served his suspension, but hasn’t looked very good in his first few games.  Hopefully it is just a little rust.

Ray Allen – Boston slows the pace of their games to the point where it is hard for Allen to have a big night.  He can do it, but it’s rare.

Wilson Chandler – Chandler is able to fill the stat sheet and he gets the minutes.

Richard Hamilton -  Dealing with an ankle problem right now but should return later in the week.

John Salmons – It is looking more and more like last season’s career year was somewhat of a fluke.

Allen Iverson – Coming off the bench for now, but not for long.

Corey Brewer – Has the starting job in Minnesota and can fill the stat sheet.  Doesn’t shoot very well, but will still get points.

Mike Miller – Just suffered a shoulder sprain and could miss 2-3 weeks.

Courtney Lee – Has a starting spot and keeps jacking up shots.  The problem is he keeps missing.

JR Smith – Will return soon to a high powered Denver offense.  We will see if he has matured any.

Michael Redd – Already out for two weeks with a strained patella tendon.  Says it isn’t related to the ACL/MCL surgery.

Ronnie Brewer – Getting good minutes and is shooting better this year.  Great for the steals category.

Grant Hill – Got off to a fast start playing extra minutes when Richardson was suspended, but age is catching up with him.

Kirk Hinrich – Hinrich has been getting some minutes off the bench and has been knocking down shots.

Josh Howard – Should return in a week or two.

Dahntay Jones – I’ve been impressed with Jones and he is getting a real chance in Indiana.  Keep an eye on him.

Raja Bell – Is trying to play through his wrist problem, isn’t having much luck shooting the ball.

Delonte West – Has returned to the team but isn’t starting yet.

Randy Foye – Might get a shot for the next two weeks while Mike Miller recovers from a strained shoulder.

Thabo Sefolosha – In there strictly for his defense.

James Harden – Has been on the bench behind Thabo Sefolosha.

Leandro Barbosa – Has an injury right now and still can’t get a starting job.

DeMar Derozan – Rookie has the starting spot, but hasn’t been doing much fantasywise.

Anthony Parker – Filling in for Delonte West.  Not much production, but he is getting the minutes.

Francisco Garcia (injured), Rudy Fernandez, Mo Peterson, Marquis Daniels, Daequan Cook, Larry Hughes, Brandon Rush, JJ Redick, Antoine Wright,

Rankings Updated November 5, 2009.

Chris Paul – New Orleans isn’t looking too good, but maybe Paul can put them on his back and carrry them until things gel.

Deron Williams – Just gets it done every night and with Utah’s poor defense they have to keep scoring and playing most games all the way to the end with Williams on the floor.

Gilbert Arenas – Arenas looks completely healthy and has been carrying the Wizards.

Chauncey Billups – JR Smith has been out and Billups has been picking up the scoring slack.  Maybe a dip when Smith finishes his suspension.

Rajon Rondo – Rondo got his extension and is a happy camper.  His scoring has been light, but improving.

Devin Harris – Injured, likely out until mid-November.

Tony Parker – Still scoring and playing good minutes.

Steve Nash – Phoenix has decided to just outscore everyone and forget about defense, both good things for Nash.

Monta Ellis – Is playing well with Stephen Curry and the GSW fast pace definitely helps his fantasy numbers.

Derrick Rose – Rose has been slow to get going after an injury cost him most of preseason.  He will get better.

Baron Davis – Is very erratic and hard to play in daily leagues, but at least he seems to care so far this season which is more than we got from him last year.

Jason Kidd -  Age is starting to show.  He has a good game every now and then but can disappear at any time.

Russell Westbrook – OKC is pretty good this year and Westbrook has matured.  He has come close to a triple double a couple of times so far this year.

Aaron Brooks – Brooks has been a surprise this season.  The Rockets seem to want to run and Brooks is leading the way.

Jameer Nelson – Looks recovered and should get stronger as the season progresses.

Rodney Stuckey – Puts in solid minutes and looks able to lead the team.

Lou Williams – Another surprise player who is getting his shot now that Andre Miller is gone.  Doing well, let’s see if he can keep it up.

Jose Calderon – Calderon is sliding down the list.  He looks bad this year and Turkoglu seems to be taking the ball out of his hands.  He has already missed more FT than he missed all of last season.

Mo Williams -  Mo can score, but that’s about it.  Assist numbers are way down.

Brandon Jennings – The kid can score and he has the starting PG spot.

Chris Duhon – Keeps chugging along in a fast paced Knicks attack.  He will get his assists and threes.

Andre Miller – In a timeshare with Steve  Blake.

Mike Bibby - Will start losing minutes to Jamal Crawford.

T.J. Ford – Has been benched a few times so far this season.

Raymond Felton - DJ Augustin is just waiting to take his job.

Mario Chalmers – Not producing anything more than steals and a few assists.

Ramon Sessions - Looks like he has lost the starting spot to Jonny Flynn.

Jonny Flynn – Has the starting spot, but hasn’t done much with it.

Mike Conley -  May start losing minutes to Allen Iverson.

Beno Udrih – Tyreke Evans has the starting job, but Udrih might get another shot if Evans falters.

Derek Fisher – Saw Fisher play 34 minutes and get 0 points, 0 assists and 0 rebounds in a game.   Enough said.

Luke Ridnour, JJ Barea, Ty Lawson, Kyle Lowery, Steve Blake, DJ Augustin, Rafer Alson, Will Bynum, Carlos Arroyo, Nate Robinson (injured), Earl Watson, Jason Williams, Jarrett Jack, Randy Foye.

Getting Ready for the 2009-2010 Season!
