Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire Pickups, Week 6

A few waiver wire tips for a slow Sunday:

Drew Gooden (MIL)Andrew Bogut is likely done for the season with a fractured ankle.  Gooden is a must add if you need help at center.  He’s already shown in his first two starts what he’s capable of.

Avery Bradley (BOS) – I’ve been seeing some rumors that Rajon Rondo may be out for a month.  I’ve also see some articles saying he’s going to play today, so who knows.  If he is out for a month, then Bradley, and maybe E’Twaun Moore, become great spot starts.

Kirk Hinrich (ATL)Jeff Teague is running out of steam and he’s also been a little banged up lately. Hinrich should build his minutes back up to the 25-30 minute range soon and makes a nice grab.

Chris Kaman (NOR) – I’ve seen Kaman dropped to a lot of wires, but he’s said to be on the trading block and he could see a huge spike in value with a trade to the right situation.  He’s worth a stash on the bench if you have room.

Glen Davis (ORL)Ryan Anderson is having some injury issues and Davis could pick up a few starts this week.  He probably won’t put up any huge lines, but if you need some rebounds, he’s a solid pickup.

Rodrigue Beaubois (DAL)Jason Kidd is hurting again and the Mavs need someone to step up at PG.  Delonte West got the minutes last time Kidd was out, but he’s also dealing with some injury problems.  Beaubois should get a chance to play this week and has decent upside.

Tiago Splitter (SAS) – It feels like Splitter is finally putting it together and could take over the starting center spot in the next couple of weeks.  He’s worth a gamble just to see if that happens.

Mike Dunleavy (MIL) – It doesn’t seem like Stephen Jackson is going to last much longer in Milwaukee and the beneficiary could be Dunleavy.  He won’t get you much other than points and threes, but he can pickup 15-20 a game if he gets starters minutes.

Jan Vesely (WAS) – Vesely is an interesting pickup for guys in keeper leagues.  Andray Blatche has worked himself into the doghouse and Vesely is going to get his shot now.  The Wizards really have nothing to play for, so they might as well see what they have in their rookies.  Jordan Crawford also makes a great pickup if the Wizards go in the rebuilding direction.

Courtney Lee (HOU) – I’m not sure how serious Kevin Martin’s latest foot injury is, but if it’s going to keep him out, Courtney Lee is a guy you want to own.  He can help you with points, threes and steals.

Chase Budinger (HOU)Chandler Parsons’ fantasy run might be coming to an end and Budinger could work his way back into the starting lineup soon.  He could be a good gamble if someone in your league gave up on him.

Mo Williams (LAC) – Williams finally looks like he’s healthy again and he’s been putting up some good lines off the bench.  He’s clearly ahead of Randy Foye as the backup to Chris Paul and Chauncey Billups.

Gustavo Ayon (NOR) – Ayon is probably the reason that the Hornets are willing to shop Chris Kaman.  Keep Ayon on your waiver wire watchlist and be ready to jump if Kaman gets traded out of the picture.

Channing Frye (PHO) – I’ve seen Frye dropped in several leagues.  I’m not sure he’s going to bounce back, but a shooter can snap out of it at anytime, so he could be a nice stash just in case he suddenly finds his stroke.

CJ Miles (UTA)Raja Bell is dealing with some injuries and Miles could finally move into the starting SG spot for the Jazz.  If he starts getting solid minutes, he’ll be a nice add.

Jerryd Bayless (TOR) – I’ve seen some rumors of Jose Calderon being on the trade block.  If he gets moved, Bayless could be a prime pickup.

Linas Kleiza (TOR) – Kleiza has been playing well since his return from injury and should stay in the starting lineup for awhile.  He’ll give you solid stats across the board, especially while Andrea Bargnani is out.

Gilbert Arenas (FA) – Arenas is rumored to be drawing some interest from the Lakers.  I don’t see it happening, but someone should eventually give Gilbert a call, which makes him an interesting bench stash.
