Anderson Varejao – Dislocated Finger

Anderson Varejao ($8100) dislocated his right ring finger Saturday but was able to return to the game and finish with a pretty solid line of 19 points and 17 rebounds.  He had X-rays on the finger which were negative.  There’s no indication that he’s going to miss any time, but a dislocated finger is much sorer a couple of days after it happens, so be safe and check his status for tonight’s game against Detroit.

If Varejao can’t play, look for Tyler Zeller($3600) to pick up a start.

Brook Lopez – Sprained Foot, Out Two Games

Brook Lopez ($7600) was diagnosed with a mildly sprained right foot, the same foot he injured last year which caused him to miss almost the entire 2011-2012 season.  Lopez will miss Friday’s game in Orlando and Saturday’s game in Miami.

Andray Blatche ($4100) could pick up starts in both games and makes a great daily fantasy cash game play.  Reggie Evans ($3700) could also see some extra minutes.

Darren Collison – Sprained Finger

Darren Collison ($5500) was inactive Wednesday with a sprained finger.  I can’t find anything that tells when or how he suffered the injury, but it may have something to do with his benching on Monday and could have been the reason the Mavs went with Dominique Jones as the starter.  As for Collison, x-rays on the finger were negative and it isn’t known how long he’ll be out.

Dominique Jones ($3600) got his second consecutive start, but didn’t do much posting 10 points and 5 assists.

LaMarcus Aldridge Aggravates Back Injury

LaMarcus Aldridge ($8100) aggravated his existing back injury during Wednesday’s game against the Wizards.  He managed to play through it and log 41 minutes, but may have done more damage than good in the 84-82 loss.   The back issue already caused him to miss a game this past Sunday and the Blazers could rest him again if it acts up more.  Back injuries are really tricky to deal with and are one of the biggest things that cause surprise scratches at gametime.  Keep this in mind if you are thinking of using him in daily fantasy games, especially given his lofty $8100 salary.

If Aldridge does miss time, Meyers Leonard ($5000) will likly pick up a few starts at PF.

Marvin Williams – Concussion

Marvin Williams ($4600) suffered a possible concussion late in the third quarter Wednesday when he slipped and hit his head on the floor.  He left the game and didn’t return.   There’s a good chance that he could miss a game or two under the NBA’s Concussion policy.

If Williams is forced to miss time, it’s likely that Derrick Favors ($6100) will get the start at SF for the Jazz.  He makes a great cheap, short term play in daily fantasy cash games.
