Fantasy Basketball Daily News (10/20/09)

I’m getting more concerned with Derrick Rose.  Chicago Tribune reports that he may now miss the opener with what can only be described as an ‘unusual’ ankle injury.    He has been out nearly three weeks and the article doesn’t expect him to be ready in the next 8 days.  One month total is a long absence for any minor ankle problem.

IndyStar.com takes a look at Brandon Rush.  I’ve read in several places that Rush is getting the starting SG job over Dahntay Jones.  As long as he plays good defense, he should get enough minutes to be a fantasy asset.

SunSentinel.com examines the Miami Heat rotationDaequan Cook  is an interesting sleeper.  He can bomb the three so give him a look if you need help in the category.  James Jones is also a good shooter and could help if he can get some time at SF.

Detroit Free Press reports that Charlie Villanueva says the hamstring feels good and he is ready to play.  Villanueva could be a great draft pick this season as long as he avoids injury.   Maybe similar to Zach Randolph, but without the attitude or strip club obsession.

Devin Harris is still nursing a groin problem, so grab Rafer Alston if you need insurance.

Not fantasy related, but I thought this was interesting:  Chamillionaire talks about meeting Michael Jordan and what an ass Jordan was.
