Fantasy Basketball Daily News (10/21/09)

Corey Brewer is climbing up my sleeper rankings.  BleacherReport.com has a good article on him and his impressive stats over the last 5 preseason games.  Kevin Love is out and Al Jefferson is hurting which may require the Wolves to move Ryan Gomes to PF while starting Brewer at SF.  If he impresses it could become permanent.

CBS Sports reports that Al Jefferson is suffering with Achilles tendonitis and is out indefinitely.   Minnesota also traded for Nathan Jawaii on Tuesday, so maybe all isn’t well with Jefferson.   If you have already drafted Al, it might be a good move to see what you can get for him.

Yahoo Sports with a fantasy article covering several fantasy players at each position and several players who can help in certain stat categories.

Associated Press reports that Raja Bell has a partially torn ligament in his wrist which could require surgery.  If so, he could miss the season.  The worst kind of injury for a 3PT sharpshooter to have.  Even if he plays he’ll probably be ineffective so find another late round source of threes like J. Kapono, D. Cook, S. Battier or R. Butler.  If you want to take a shot on the backups give Gerald Henderson, DJ Augustin and Flip Murry a look.
