Fantasy Basketball Daily News and Notes (10/26/10)

The season is finally here with three games on the NBA schedule tonight.  The TNT TV Doubleheader is Miami/Boston at 7:30 EST and Houston/LA Lakers at 10:30 EST.   Let’s roll out the dancers to get this season going.

Daily Cash Games – Fanduel.com and FantasySportsLive.com both have their daily fantasy basketball cash games up and running.  Get signed up and start playing tonight!

NBA Dancers – The NBA’s hottest Dancers according to Dime Magazine: The Atlantic DivisionSoutheast Division, Central Division.

LeBron James (MIA) – His new Nike Ad.  Interesting.

Fantasy Focus – Tonight’s fantasy player to watch:  Carlos Arroyo (MIA).  Can he establish firm control of the PG spot for Miami and will he get the opportunity to put up fantasy stats?  If he establishes himself, he could be worth an add if you are struggling with your PG spot.

Martell Webster (MIN) – Had back surgery Monday, out 4-6 weeks.

Keith Bogans (CHI) – Will start at SG for the Bulls this week.

Josh Childress (PHO) – A broken finger might cause him to miss a couple games.

Houston Rockets – Tonight’s probable lineup:  Aaron Brooks, Kevin Martin, Shane Battier, Luis Scola and Yao Ming.  Ming could be a gamble, so be careful with him if you are using him in daily cash games.

Yao Ming (HOU) – He’s out Wednesday for the second of a back to back.  This will happen a lot this season with Ming.  Good luck picking which half of the back to back he’s going to miss each time.

Kobe Bryant (LAL) – He’s going to try and top 30 minutes in the opener.

Chris Douglas-Roberts (MIL) – Could miss the opener with an eye injury.

Gilbert Arenas (WAS) – A sore ankle could cause him to miss the opener.  Check his gametime status.  Kirk Hinrich will get the call if Arenas can’t go.

Detroit Pistons – Opening night starters Stuckey, Hamilton, Prince, Daye and Wallace.

Leandro Barbosa (TOR) – Dealing with a wrist problem, which isn’t a good injury for a shooter.  If Barbosa can’t go, DeMar DeRozan will play starter’s minutes.

Ben Gordon (DET) – He looks recovered from his shoulder injury and should be ready for the opener.

Joel Anthony (MIA) – Will get the start at center for the Heat.  Anthony could be a great source of blocks this year.

Marc Gasol (MEM) – Could miss the opener with a sprained ankle.  Hasheem Thabeet will likely fill in if Gasol can’t go.

Stephen Curry (GSW) – He’s fighting a sore ankle and might be a little limited for Wednesday.  If Curry can’t go for some reason, Reggie Williams would get the call with Monta Ellis likely handling the ball.

Wayne Ellington (MIN) – There’s some surprising talk of Ellington getting the starting nod at SG for the TWolves, which might make him worth a look in deep leagues.

Ryan Gomes (LAC) – I’ve seen Gomes left on the wire in several drafts and he probably shouldn’t be there.  If he’s still on your wire, watch him closely in the first two weeks and then make a play for him.

Andre Iguodala (PHI) – Says he’s going to play the opener against the Heat, even with the sore wrist.
