Fantasy Basketball Daily News and Notes (11/11/10)

Daily Cash Games – Great night Wednesday on Fanduel.com going 11-4 and hitting all my $25 games.   FantasySportsLive.com was a 6-2 night.  Feels good to get back on track after Tuesday’s poor performance.  Only three games on the schedule for Thursday, so I’ll probably only play a couple of head to head games tonight.

Mayra VeronicaDaily Distraction Girl from HoopedUpOnline.com.  Nice now, but not so sure it’s going to be looking all that good at age 40.

Paul Millsap (UTA) – Millsap is for real this season.  Two great games back to back against two of the toughest defenses in the league.  I would not sell high on Millsap, unless the deal is just outstanding.

Deron Williams (UTA) – If he’s suffering any nagging injuries, it sure isn’t showing in his stats.  30pts/14ast Wednesday.  Start him with confidence.

Ryan Anderson (ORL) – Got the start Wednesday and played a total of two minutes.  Brandon Bass came off the bench for 37 minutes.  What exactly is the point in managing your rotation like this?  Drop Anderson.

Yao Ming (HOU) – That didn’t take long.  He left last night’s game with a leg injury after only 6 minutes of action.  So much for increasing his minutes.  Jordan Hill is looking like a nice grab in keeper leagues and you definitely want to give Brad Miller and Chuck Hayes a flier for short term value.

John Wall (WAS) – 19pts/10reb/13ast/6stl.  He won most of my daily fantasy basketball games for me yesterday.  It’s a two dog race for rookie of the year and one of the dogs is starting to pull away.

Andray Blatche (WAS) – Keeps getting better as he works himself into shape, 20pts/11reb.  Take one last shot at trading for him before his owners realize what’s happening.

Linas Kleiza (TOR) – Disappointing game against the Bobcats.  Hold him for a few more games and then it might be time to look for a better option.

Amir Johnson (TOR) – 28 minutes last night and he should be picked up.

Sonny Weems (TOR) – Good shooting night with 20 points on 12 shots.  If Leandro Barbosa decides to have wrist surgery, Weems should be picked up immediately.

Kris Humphries/Troy Murphy – Humphries got the start for Troy Murphy Wednesday and put up 13ps/18reb.  There probably isn’t much fantasy value with Humphries.  It sure is disappointing that Derrick Favors didn’t get the start instead.

Cleveland Cavaliers – This is turning into a fantasy disaster much like the Sixers were last season with the Princeton offense experiment.  The ball gets spread too thin and nobody really has an above average fantasy performance.   Even when one person does, it’s totally unpredictable.

Andris Biedrins (GSW) – He’s settled into an 8pt/10reb type of groove.  Not bad for a last round flier in most leagues.

Monta Ellis (GSW) – Shook off the back strain and went 41 minutes Wednesday.  You have to love the effort playing through pain, because a lot of NBA guys would have just skipped this one.  It certainly makes him a more dependable daily choice when you know he’ll give it a go with nagging injuries.

Wilson Chandler (NYK) – Timofey Mozgov finally got benched and Chandler moved into the starting lineup at PF, which pushed Amare Stoudemire to C.  Chandler rewarded D’Antoni with 27 points.  Amare went for 33pt/10reb.  Not what Anthony Randolph owners were hoping to see though.

Landry Fields (NYK) – D’Antoni is sticking with him and the move of Wilson Chandler to PF could open up more minutes for Fields.  Pick  him up if he’s still on your wire.

Evan Turner (PHI) – He’s trying really hard to keep his name in the rookie of the year race.  39 minutes, 15pts/8reb.  The rebounds are excellent from the SG spot.

DeShawn Stevenson (DAL) – Another start while Caron Butler is out.  Watch his role when Butler returns to see if he might be a short term pickup.

Jason Terry (DAL) – He’s back in his favorite 6th man role, 25 points last night.

Mike Conley (MEM) – You might want to think about selling high on Conley.  His great run has come against some high scoring, weak defense teams.  Last night’s 9pt/4reb/5ast line against a decent Mavericks defense might be more realistic.

DeAndre Jordan/Craig Smith (LAC) – Jordan got the start, but the minutes were split evenly between Jordan and Smith as they filled in for the injured Chris Kaman.  Neither is fantasy worthy.

Tim Duncan (SAS) – Duncan had the flu last night, which explains his poor line.

Serge Ibaka (OKC) – Got another start with Jeff Green out and put up 12pts/7reb/4blk.   He’s going to be good in another year or two.

Kevin Love (MIN) – After a huge 23pt/24reb game, Love was rewarded by having his minutes cut back to 28.  Darko played 32 minutes.  Pure genius there Rambis.   I really hope he’s the first coach that gets canned.  If there is contraction in the NBA next season, please let it be Minnesota that draws the short straw.  They have to be the worst coached, worst managed and most boring team to watch.  NBA fans deserve better.

Michael Beasley (MIN) – 42 point explosion Wednesday.

Mo Williams (CLE) – Suffered an adductor strain, give Ramon Sessions a look if you need a replacement.

Baron Davis (LAC) – Another DNP.  He must have strained himself  in that big 10 minutes he played Tuesday.
