Fantasy Basketball Daily News and Notes (11/16/10)

Daily Cash Games – I went 3-0 on Fanduel.com last night and 3-4 on FantasySportsLive.com. One thing that is starting to become clear as my sample size of results grows is that results on individual sites are highly correlated. If you guys are playing daily games, it’s a good idea to spread your bets over multiple sites to cut down on your variance. As evidenced last night, it is possible to go undefeated on one site while having a losing record on another. If fact, the more I play, the more I see how common this really is.
Marika Fruscio – Daily Distraction Girl from HoopedUpOnline.com. One of their better selections.
O. J. Mayo (MEM) – After 11 games, it’s pretty clear that Mayo is having a subpar year. His stats are down across the board. Not sure why he is regressing in his third year, but it might be something to keep an eye on.
Michael Beasley (MIN) – 28 points last night and he’s showing no signs of letting up. A great steal if you got him cheap in drafts. He’s always been a bit of a headcase, so I couldn’t fault anyone who tried to sell high on Beasley here.
Darko Milicic (MIN) – Finally had a good game, 13pt/12reb/5ast/4blk.
Nazr Mohammed (CHA) – Reverted back to his normal self, 11pt/4reb. Leave him on the wire.
Tyrus Thomas (CHA) – Another game where he showed flashes of brilliance, 20pt/10reb/4blk. He would be a fantasy star if he could just be more consistent. Watch to see if he can string together some good games without disappearing.
Carmelo Anthony (DEN) – 22 rebounds last night. It was like he had magnets in his hands and every long rebound just bounced right to him.
Hakim Warrick (PHO) – He needs to be starting over Hedo Turkoglu. 21 points in 26 minutes Monday. See if he’s still on your wire.
Jeff Green (OKC) – Green missed another game last night on the second half of a back to back. Not sure if this was just precautionary or if he had some kind of setback. Check his next gametime status.
Serge Ibaka (OKC) – Got the start for Jeff Green and put up a big line, 22pt/11reb/4blk. There’s a reason Green didn’t get that contract extension. Green probably won’t get Pipped, but Ibaka could eat into some of his minutes.
C. J. Miles (UTA) – The first guy off the bench Monday and he managed 26 minutes, putting up 16 points.
Austin Daye (DET) – He’s an aggravating player to own right now. He got a DNP in his last game with Jason Maxiell taking his starting spot. Monday Daye started and Maxiell only got 5 minutes. Probably best to just avoid both until this clears up.
Charlie Villanueva (DET) – You have to wonder why Detroit is bothering to start Daye or Maxiell when Villanueva is playing so well. 18pts/8reb Monday.
Kris Humphries (NJN) – He got another start and put up 12pt/13reb. Worth a short term add until Troy Murphy gets healthy.
Devin Harris (NJN) – He got ejected Monday and it couldn’t have come at a worse time for me. It’s the only time this season that I have started Harris in daily cash games and his ejection cost me 3 of my losses on FSL.
Jordan Farmar (NJN) – Got some run with Harris getting ejected and put up a nice line, 15pt/12ast.
Blake Griffin (LAC) – While Harris cost me my FSL daily cash games, Griffin won my Fanduel.com games, as all three of my opponents had him going. He dropped a real bomb on them with 11pts/3reb.
Gordon Hayward (UTA) – He got a start in place of injured Raja Bell but didn’t so much with it. It’s still good to see that the coaches trust the rookie. He’s probably long gone in keeper leagues, but check your wire just in case.
Josh Childress (PHO) – 10pts/8reb Monday. The stats are going to increase when the splint comes off the finger. Grab him now before anyone else notices.
