Fantasy Basketball Daily News and Notes for Thursday, June 14

Jim Rome and David Stern had a very interesting conversation regarding the legitimacy of the NBA Lottery system.   It was a great interview and you can listen to the entire thing here.  I’m sure the lottery isn’t ‘fixed’, but you have to admit that the storylines of the last couple of seasons have given the conspiracy theorists a good bit of fodder to work with.  Sometimes truth is stranger than fiction and we choose to hear and believe what we want.  I think the conspiracy theorists simply choose the facts that support their position, and no matter what the result would have been, they would still twist that result to suit their own agenda.

Ray Allen and Mickael Pietrus both had arthroscopic surgery Wednesday.  Allen had the procedure on his ankle, Pietrus on his right knee.  It’s looking like Allen won’t be back in Boston next season.  His health and final destination will go a long way toward determining his fantasy value.  (Source: Celtics Blog)

Gerald Wallace has opted out of the final year of his contract with the Nets.  This is probably just a tactical move by Wallace to secure the most money possible next season.  The Nets can still bring him back, but it will be expensive.  (Source:  Nets Daily)
