Fantasy Basketball News 9/3/09

You know it is the offseason when it takes two days to come up with enough information to even make a single short blog post.  Thankfully the Rubio circus is over.  I just can’t take anymore of that guy and I hope I don’t  have to hear the name for two more years.

I saw this great headline and article on Yahoo, ‘Flynn Disappointed by Rubio News’.  There couldn’t possibly be a more bullshit  headline ever printed.   At least the kid is trying to follow company policy.  Let’s see, I got the PG spot all to myself  and I get to run the show without that pain in the ass Rubio stealing my minutes…  See that picture of Flynn in the article, does it look like he is disappointed?  Start moving him up the fantasy rankings.

PeachtreeHoops.com  and Hoopinion both discuss the signing of Jason Collins by the Hawks.  My favorite line from the PeachtreeHoops article, “But hey, at least we got the taller of the [Collins] twins.”

ESPN reports that Bruce Bowen has decided to call it a career and announce his retirement.   Bowen was an awesome defender in real life, but was probably one of the worst fantasy players ever.

Hoopsworld reports that Amare Stoudemire returned to the court doing some drills and playing some pickup games with teammates.

BlazersEdge.com reports that Rudy Fernandez pulled a hamstring and may miss some time.  Probably nothing to worry about this far from the regular season, but keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn’t become a chronic condition.
