Daily Fantasy Tournament Results for Saturday

Congrats to my buddy Chainsaul for winning the Fanduel.com $4500 Saturday Slam fantasy basketball tournament!  A couple of unfamiliar guys, CCExpress and Jamcon2000, were close behind grabbing second and third place.  CCExpress also took down first place in the Fanduel.com $1000 tourney, with Potvin29 coming in second and the DaBigU taking third.

Long time fantasy hockey player, KennyK_1957,  took down the Fanduel.com $1200 NHL Fantasy Hockey contest yesterday.   Jerm40 took second and TimDiesel took third.

The next big day for NBA fantasy tourneys will be Wednesday, with large field tourneys at Fanduel.com, FantasySportsLive.com  and DraftStreet.com.

News and Notes from Saturday’s Fantasy NBA Action

Paul Millsap (UTA) – Millsap continues to produce without Deron Williams around, 23pts/11reb6ast/3blk.  It’s very similar to what occurred with LaMarcus Aldridge picking up his scoring after losing Brandon Roy.

Devin Harris (UTA) – Already looking comfortable in Utah, 17pts/12ast.

Greg Monroe (DET) – May be locking up a starting spot for next season, 12pts/16reb and another couple of steals.

Tyson Chandler (DAL) – Chandler just dominated JaVale McGee last night putting up 23pts/13reb.

Roddy Beaubois (DAL) – He’s been a real fantasy disappointment since returning from injury.  Hang on to him this week to see if it gets any better and then cut bait.  I’d hold him though in keeper leagues.

John Wall (WAS) – Put up an attactive 24 points, until you look and see that it took him 26 shots to get it.  He’s really going to have to work on his shooting in the offseason.

Beno Udrih (SAC) – Udrih got hot Saturday making 10 of 13 shots for 24 points.

Marcus Thornton (SAC) – Guess who led the Kings with 18 shot attempts?  Thornton continues to tease and has pretty much guaranteed his spot on my keeper league fantasy bench for the rest of the season.  I’ve held him this long, might as well see the gamble to the end.

Tony Allen/Sam Young (MEM) – It looks like Tony Allen is going to be the Memphis player that takes the hit in fantasy value with the arrival of Shane Battier.  Allen only got 16 minutes, while Battier got 25.  Young got 30 minutes.

Deron Williams (NJN) – Another solid game, 15pts/17ast.  He was only 3 of 12 shooting, but that will improve once things settle down for him in his new home.

Chase Budinger (HOU) – It’s probably way too late to grab Budinger off the wire, but check your league just to see if he’s still out there, 27 points in his start at SF for the Rockets.

Joakim Noah (CHI) – It looks safe to start using Noah again in daily fantasy cash games, 8pts/17reb/3blk.  The shooting will improve as the thumb heals.

Kurt Thomas (CHI) – His fantasy run came to an abrupt end, DNP-CD last night.  He did a great job filling in for Noah and the Bulls were lucky to have him around.

John Salmons (MIL) – Had an off night shooting, 5 of 14, which pushed both of my tournament teams just outside the money.   He was a risky play that just backfired on me.

Nenad Krstic (BOS) – Played 21 minutes and put up 9pts/6reb.  It’s about what you can expect for the rest of the season from Krstic.
