Fantasy Basketball 2010-2011 Team Preview: Toronto Raptors (9/13/10)

The Raptors lost their fantasy star when Chris Bosh joined James and Wade in Miami, but they still have a few guys who could be interesting fantasy options.  Jarrett Jack and Jose Calderone will platoon at PG, but I think Jack should see more minutes as the starter.  Shooting guard will be a battle between DeMar DeRozan and Leandro Barbosa, which will probably end up as a useless fantasy platoon situation.  Linas Kleiza has a good chance of securing big minutes at SF this season and is a deep fantasy sleeper, especially if you need threes.  Amir Johnson should get first shot at filling the void left by Bosh.   Andrea Bargnani is the best fantasy option on the Raptors, but he’s more of a scorer than rebounder, so make sure he fits what you are trying to accomplish with you fantasy team.

Projected Depth Chart
PG:   Jarrett Jack, Jose Calderon
SG:  DeMar DeRozan, Leandro Barbosa, Sonny Weems
SF:  Linas Kleiza, Julian Wright
PF:  Amir Johnson, Reggie Evans, Ed Davis
C:  Andrea Bargnani, David Andersen, Joey Dorsey

Fantasy Basketball 2010-2011 Team Preview: Philadelphia 76’ers (9/11/10)

The Sixers experimented with Eddie Jordan and his Princeton offense last season and it was a total disaster.  They brought in Doug Collins this year to try and fix the mess of 2009 and many roles could change on this team.  It looks like Jrue Holiday will start at PG with rookie Evan Turner running with him at SG.  Andre Iguodala should get the SF spot and Elton Brand should start at PF.  Center is going to be a battle in camp.  I’ve seen some rumor of Brand trying to play center with Thaddeus Young at PF, but we’ll see.  Post your article comments over on the Fantasy Basketball Daily Facebook Page.

Projected Depth Chart
PG:   Jrue Holiday, Lou Williams
SG:   Evan Turner, Willie Green, Jodie Meeks
SF:   Andre Iguodala, Andres Nocioni, Jason Kapono
PF:   Elton Brand, Thaddeus Young, Jason Smith
C:    Marreese Speights, Spencer Hawes

Fantasy Basketball 2010-2011 Team Report: New York Knicks (9/10/10)

After several years of complete destruction in order to clear the cap space necessary to land LeBron James, the Knicks came up empty and had to settle for adding only Amare Stoudemire.    Stoudemire is still a good catch, but the Knicks don’t gain much since they lost David Lee, a power forward that was already a fantasy star in his own right.  The Knicks brought in Raymond Felton to run the point and Kelenna Azubuike to challenge for the starting shooting guard spot.  Danilo Gallinari will likely start at SF, Stoudemire at PF and Ronny Turiaf at C, however there are many possible lineup combinations and we won’t really get any answers until camp gets going in October.

Projected Depth Chart
PG – Raymond Felton, Toney Douglas
SG – Kelenna Azubuike, Wilson Chandler, Roger Mason, Andy Rautins
SF – Danilo Gallinari, Bill Walker, Landry Fields
PF – Amare Stoudemire, Anthony Randolph
C – Ronny Turiaf, Timofey Mozgov
Coach – Mike D’Antoni

Fantasy Basketball 2010-2011 Team Preview: New Jersey Nets (9/9/10)

The New Jersey Nets were every bit as bad as their 12-70 record would indicate and it doesn’t look much better this season.  There’s definitely a reason that LeBron didn’t choose the Nets.  The Nets will give Devin Harris another shot at running the offense at point guard with Anthony Morrow and Terrence Williams fighting for time at shooting guard.   The Nets overpaid for Travis Outlaw and he should see most of the minutes at small forward.  Troy Murphy will man the power forward spot and Brook Lopez will start at center.  Lopez has the most fantasy value on the club, with Troy Murphy and Devin Harris a distant second and third.    Post your comments over on the Fantasy Basketball Daily Facebook Page.

Projected Depth Chart
PG – Devin Harris, Jordan Farmar
SG – Terrence Williams, Anthony Morrow,
SF – Travis Outlaw, Quinton Ross, Damion James
P – Troy Murphy, Derrick Favors, Kris Humphries
C – Brook Lopez, Johan Petro

Fantasy Basketball 2010-2011 Team Preview: Boston Celtics (9/8/10)

Not much has changed with the Celtics this season and they should once again have a playoff spot waiting for them if they can keep everyone healthy.   Rajon Rondo will run the offense with Ray Allen at shooting guard, Paul Pierce at small forward and Kevin Garnett at power forward.   The only change for the Celtics is at center where Kendrick Perkins is out for most of the year with torn knee ligaments.  Boston brought in Jermaine O’Neal to start at center, with Shaquille O’Neal backing him up.  The top four should all put up stats similar to 2009, while Jermaine O’Neal will put up decent numbers in his 30 minutes per night.

Projected Depth Chart
PG – Rajon Rondo, Nate Robinson, Avery Bradley
SG – Ray Allen, Delonte West, Von Wafer
SF – Paul Pierce, Marquis Daniels, Tony Gaffney
PF – Kevin Garnett, Glen Davis, Luke Harangody
C – Jermaine O’Neal, Shaquille O’Neal
